Shillong, August 17: The NEIGRIHMS Faculty Association Shillong (NFAS) inform to the Director to informed that today they are suspended of routine work like Outdoor Patients Department and Operation Theater.
The Doctors of NEIGRIHMS todat ceased work to joint hand in condemning of the heinous incident that occurred at RG Kar Medical college, Kolkata, where a lady resident doctor who was rape and murder.
The residents of their institute are on a strike demanding the urgent implementation of the “Central Protection Act” to ensure a safe environment for all the healthcare workers at hospitals.
After extensive deliberation, the members of the NEIGRIHMS Faculty Association have reached a majority decision, agreeing that, with the exception of emergency medical services- such as casualty, emergency OT, ICU, and wards no routine hospital services including OPD, OT, and Laboratory were stop today.
This was done in solidarity with their medical fraternity and the IMA. They attended only emergency services and wards continue to function smoothly, that patients requiring urgent and life-saving care are never left unattended.
