Mawkasiang, March 27: DREAM is excited to announce the successful launch of its second vocational training program, aimed at empowering women in their recovery journey. In collaboration with esteemed institutions such as Don Bosco Technical School (DBTS), North-East Institute of Professional Studies (NEIPS), BIDS, and ITI, the event took place on March 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the New Hope De-Addiction Centre for Women in Mawkasiang.
The women residents at the New Hope De-Addiction Centre actively participated in the program, displaying a high level of enthusiasm and commitment.
Various sessions were conducted, covering a diverse range of skills, including beauty therapy, bakery & confectionery, electronics repair, driving & mechanics, culinary arts, embroidery & weaving, wire work, surveying, and more.
Additionally, the program introduced the participants to overseas employment opportunities, with specific focus on countries like Japan and Germany, where skilled workers are in demand.
Information about free state-sponsored training programs designed to enhance employability and entrepreneurial skills was also shared, offering the women valuable insights into career development opportunities available to them.
The inmates expressed their gratitude for the program and a strong desire to enrol in the various training initiatives. Their enthusiasm reflects a genuine commitment to building a brighter future post-recovery. The program has not only empowered participants with new skills but also helped build their confidence, resilience, and independence.
