Five day of Meghalaya Youth Exchange Programme 2023 conclude at NEHU Campus

Shillong, Oct 20: The Meghalaya Youth Exchange Programme 2023 organised by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs which commenced on October 16 where around 700 youths from all the 12 District of the State took part concluded today.

The closing ceremony held at the Convocation Hall, NEHU Campus Mawkynroh, Shillong was graced by Shri Shakliar Warjri, Minister, Sports & Youth Affairs as the Chief Guest in the presence of Smti I. Laloo, Director of Sports & Youth Affairs.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Shakliar Warjri expressed his immense pleasure to witness the enthusiasm and potential of the youth in showcasing their remarkable talents through the programme.

He urged the participants to take advantage of the platform provided, to learn from each other in promoting and enriching their talents and also to be aware of different cultures of the tribes in the state.

The minister also highlighted the various governmental initiatives that have been designed to promote and uplift the skills and talents of the youth of the state and to improve the quality of life in general.

During the week-long celebration various competitions like Folk Songs and Folk Dances Competitions, Guitar and  Flute Competitions, Debate and Extempore Speech, One-Act Play with the theme “Mission Life,” Talent Hunt, and Adventure Activities were conducted.

During the programme the Chief Guest along with other dignitaries awarded trophies and certificates to the winners of the various competitions.
