Tura, April 30: The Assistant General secretary of the AYWO Mr Alexander Sangma said that on the 26th of April CGB received complaints against Mr Gautam Subba who was running a Fair Price Shop at Beldalpara Fancy Bazar of West Garo Hills District.
The complaint was that he was giving less kilogram’s of rice than the prescribed amount. When the card holders asked regarding the injustice they were harassed by the dealer.
The people of the localities approached AYWO, so the AYWO took up the matter with the Food n Civil Supply Department and the Department has set up an Inquiry on 28th of April and have done the needful, thereby beneficiaries had their full quota.
It was possible because the people of the locality was united and committed to fight against the injustice. They have collected plenty of evidences and witnesses against Fair Price shop dealer.

The people should not be over burdened just because of some individuals or parties seek amount of profit by taking advantage of the limited stocks because of the National Lockdown.
The AYWO is receiving numerous complaints from several quarters about the gross manipulation and overpricing and they will not remain spectator to the unending sufferings of our people and will engage our “Rapid Action Wing” to oversee the situation by conducting surprise visit to the Spot.
The AYWO also urge the concerned authorities not to be blind to see the overpricing of essential goods and sincerely urge them to act swiftly or else AYWO will enforce our forces to make the job done said mr Alexander Sangma Assistant General Secretary, Tura.
