Shillong, June 09: The Hynniewtrep Achick National Movement (HANM) today met the Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mr Prestone Tynsong and submit to him the memorandum onthe alleged illegal intrusion into the villages of Meghalaya by the Assam Government.
In the memorandum HANM allege that the people from Karbi Anglong District has harass to the people of Khanduli regarding their farming activities under the disputed areas in Khanduli has brought fear and uncertainties amongst the people of the border areas.
Such types of obstruction will no longer be tolerated; through this action of intrusion and obstruction we can see that the government of Assam is not honouring the talk between the Chief Secretaries of the two states of Assam and Meghalaya to maintain the “Status Quo”.
In the meeting with the Deputy CM HANM asked the Government to deploy the police force and shift the police outpost to Iew Khanduli from Saitsama village. The police outpost at Saitsama is too far from the Khanduli village and nothing benefits our people living in the disputed area.
