Meghalaya C.M distributes appointment Letters to 346 LP School Teachers in the State

Shillong, 6th Feb 2024: Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, today, distributed Appointment Letters to 346 LP School Teachers at a function that was held at State Convention Centre Shillong in the presence of Minister, Education, Rakkam A Sangma.

Speaking during the occasion, Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, said that the function was not merely for the distribution of appointment letters to the newly inducted LP school teachers but was also wan occasion to share the visions and aspirations of the State government.

“We all a part of the same team now, we might be doing different things in different positions but we are here to achieve the same goal that is to take our State forward,” he said. He also said that investment in Human Capital is always the biggest investment.

“For an aspiring State investment in the right areas that is human capital is important so that the highest potential and productivity is achieved and that’s what we are working at on a scientific manner,” he added.

The Chief Minister further urged the newly inducted teachers to start their duties with the right mind that as teachers they will not only be imparting Education but will be transforming the lives of the children under their care.

He also said that while the government has invested largely on improvement of infrastructures in Education it is the human touch that is more important adding, “We have built the buildings and infrastructures but the education will be imparted by you and you will be building the future of the State and the country so you are the ones who will make the real difference.”

Minister, Education, Rakkam A Sangma, in his address, said that teaching is the most respected profession and said, “As you carry out your duties serve with dedication and commitment for you have the power to make a difference therefore we are sending you out with full confidence that you will shoulder the objective and responsibility collectively with the government.” The Minister also cautioned against the practice of proxy teachers as it damaging to a child’s academic development and compromises on quality education.

The Chief Minister and the other dignitaries also launched the Teaching Learning Materials Kit also known as Jadui Pitara for pre-schoolers. Around 35,000 children will be receiving this kit through their LP school teachers once the school commences.

This kit is an activity box that will cover  a child’s early education needs for the whole academic year. The kit comprises of activity sheets, worksheets, flashcards, posters, game boards etc.
