Shillong, Dec 22: The Director General of Police, Meghalaya, Mr. R. Chandranathan, IPS, awarded 50 Commendations in silver and bronze category to the police officials of the department, for their outstanding contributions in the line of duty.
Police officials from the rank of Superintendent of Police and below were awarded with the DGP’s Commendation Medals and Certificates, which were handed out by the DGP himself for the officers of Eastern Range and for the officials of Western Range the awards were handed out by Shri. A. Kumar, IPS, Dy. Inspector General of Police western Range.
Out of the 50 DGP’s Commendation that was awarded today, 11 Silver Commendations were awarded to officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police and 39 Bronze Commendations were awarded to officials of the Subsequent ranks.
The ceremony was held amidst strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols, with officers from Western Range and New Delhi, participating in the momentous occasion through video conferencing, and the officials posted in Eastern Range attended the ceremony in PHQ, Conference Hall.
The ceremony began with the welcome address delivered by Shri. S. S. Kynjing, IPS, Inspector General of Police (A/HQ/F&ES/Communication), followed by keynote address by the Director General of Police and valedictory speech by Mr. H. Nongpluh, IPS Addl. Director General of Police (SB/CID).
