Shillong, April 03:The Governor of Meghalaya is pleased to continue an All-Party Committee comprising of recognized and registered Political Parties to discuss matter related to establishment of Winter Capital at Tura.
The Committee shall be headed by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya or by a Minister to be nominated by the Chief Minister.
All Political Parties are requested to depute 2 (two) representatives for the said Committee. Government Departments related to the matter shall be invited during deliberation to be held by the Committee.
The terms of Reference of the committee is to study and examine the feasibility of setting up of Winter Capital at Tura and examine the advantages and disadvantages of having two state capitals based on the demands made by the various NGOs,Civil Societies etc.
The Committee shall seek views of all stakeholders concerned.The Committee shall submit report to the State Government.
