Shillong, May 01: The president of the Khasi Jaintia Deficit School Teachers Association (KJDSTA) Mr Kular Khongjirem said that the State Government and the Education Department should take into confidence the School Managing Committee(Smc) at the present juncture especially for opening or continuing with the closure of the schools due to lockdown on covid-19 in the state.
Mr Khongjirem said “We respect the meeting of the Education Dept with religious leaders of the state being the sponsoring bodies of most of the educational institutions in the state”.
They have their role to play, too but, the views and opinions of the school managing committee along with the views and opinions of the teaching communities at different levels are also equally important before the government will take a final call on the impact of the future education of students in the whole state.
It is the school authorities who are in tauch and intact with the parents and guardians of the students in each and every school. Each contact numbers of the students are properly recorded through the student’ identity cards(ID) and can communicate them as deem fit and proper, through the SMC and teachers.
The positive views and opinions of parents and guardians or even students can also be consulted or take note of them at the present situation. Some times,the views and opinions of people who are in the concerned field cannot be ignored.
They even know better than the politicians or professional administrators and bureaucrats in particular issues. To decide or impose any decisions or instructions from the higher levels are very easy but it is the duty of the lower level to implement those decisions which is not an easy task for them.
There’s not to reason why, but the views and pinions of the SMC, the teachers, the parents and guardians of the students should take into confidence by the govt before final decision will be taken on such critical issue. Said Mr Babu Kular Khongjirem,President KJDSTA,Shillong.
