Shillong , Jan 9: As a part of Nation-wide Dry Run to administer COVID 19 Vaccination, Meghalaya had done the dry run in 33 Health Facilities across 11 Districts of the State.
The Dry run was conducted successfully by following the three broad steps, checking the registration details of the healthcare workers who were to be vaccinated, Mock administration of a vaccine (as a trial) and checking for any Adverse Effects Following Immunization while advising for a COVID appropriate behaviour (waiting period for 30 minutes).
More than 600 healthcare workers participated in this dry run across the State. Private and Missionary run Health care facilities were also included in the dry run apart from Government Healthcare facilities.
Representatives of World Health Organisation, John Hopkins Program for International Education and United Nations Development Program were involved in monitoring the exercise. The exercise was followed by a review meeting by Shri Sampath Kumar, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department. Feedback from all the Districts were taken and interventions were planned. The State is ready for administering COVID vaccine as and when they arrive.
