Shillong, March 05: The 15th Annual day and graduation ceremony for MBBS and nursing student was celebrated with pride and joy at NEIGRIHMS on 5th March 2025. Dean of NEIGRIHMS, Prof. Animesh Mishra congratulated the graduate students and asked them to incorporate empathy in their future medical profession. Dr. Mishra also administered the physician’s pledge to the medical students.
Prof. Nalin Mehta, Director of NEIGRIHMS, emphasised the importance leaders in providing best of platforms for the future medical professionals. Prof. Mehta congratulated the graduates and expressed his confidence that they will serve the nation in future with best of healthcare practices.
The function was graced by chief guest Padma Shri awardee and eminent urologist Prof. Mahendra Bhandari, CEO of the Vattikuti Foundation. Prof. Bhandari was conferred with the prestigious India Gandhi Oration and he delivered a talk on “Future of Surgery”.
Prof. Bhandari in his oration ignited the young mind with futuristic approach of combining artificial intelligence and predicative models in redefining the surgeries and medical treatments.
Addressing the students after the oration Prof. Bhandari advised the graduates to be confidentand transform the world with knowledge by directing the energy in consistent and selfless fashion.
Prof. Ashok Puranik Executive Director AIIMS Guwahati graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. He applauded the students for achieving the first milestone in the career and insisted on integrating humanity and respect for human life during the medical profession.
Prof. Bhandari along with Prof. Puranik and other dignitaries conferred scrolls to the newly graduated medical and nursing students. The chief guest also awarded various prizes for the academic and scientific events which were held as a part of annual day celebration.
Prof. Bhaskar Borgohain organising secretary delivered the vote of thanks and was happy for the efforts put forward by the organising committee in making the vents grand success.
