Shillong, Oct 03: On occasion of Swachh Bharat Diwason 2nd October 2024, NEIGRIHMS organized a dedicated cleaning drive of the Nongmensong market area in collaboration with Dorbar Shnong Nongmensong. The event was organized as a part of ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ &‘Special Campaign 4.0’ initiative by Government of India for cleanliness awareness in community.
The cleaning drive was to emphasis the importance ofSwachhata Me Jan Bhagidari(Public participation in cleanliness), one of the pillars ofSwachhta Hi Seva activity. Prof Nalin Mehta, Director NEIGRIHMS, Prof A. Santa Singh (Dean), Prof C. Daniala (MS), Lt. Cdr. Pawan Deep (DDA) and members of the DorbarShnongNongmensongwere present on occasion to support and encourage cleaning drive.
Dr. Mehta stated that such activities reflect the fact thatNEIGRIHMS’commitment to cleanliness is unwavering and NEIGRIHMS is proud to have concluded Swachhta Hi Seva2024 campaign with this program to help raise community awareness.
Dr. Daniala said that NEIGRIHMS will also conduct similar community level cleaning and awareness programs in October 2024 as part of Special Campaign 4.0
More than 60 volunteers including NEIGRIHMS doctors, staff, nurses, sanitation officers and sanitation staff actively carried out the cleaning of the area along with members forNongmensongDorbar.
