Shillong, Oct 11: The Police of West Jiantia Hills District have arrested five locals from Pdengshakap village who facilitated Nigerian national to enter Indian Territory illegal from Bangladesh through Meghalaya Border, on Thursday.
The five locals who were arrested by the police are, Mr Ronaldo Syndai 21 years, Mr Ni Pohleng 20 years, Mr Kliar Mon Pohthmi 18 years, Mr Rihok Chrymang 28 Years they are all from Syndai Village of West Jiantia Hills District.
The three Nigerian national who were arrested by the police from Pdengshakap village after entering into Indian territory from Bangladesh are, Mr Chukwuma Celestine Okwuwa 34 years, Mr Locky Osas Enebi 36 Years, Mr Ndubuisi Moses Chime 28 years.
In the preliminary investigation by the Meghalaya police the Nigerian National, told the police that left Logos from Nigeria on the 06/10/2019 and reached Istanbul in Turkey on transit to Dhaka, Bangladesh on 08/10/2019 morning.
While on the flight from Istanbul to Dhaka they met one Nigerian national but after landing in Dhaka he disappears in the city, but they were guided by one Bangladeshi national towards riverside and they enter into India.
While entering Indian side they saw one local person and asked him to transportation while on their way when they reached Pdengshakap village the police intercept and arrested them, the Nigerian national and the local who were alleged in felicitating the three Nigerian national to enter Indian Territory.
The Police seized the vehicle having the registration number ML05-G-4952, the police made a searched on their bag and from them no incriminating document found. The police have forwarded the case to the court for further investigation.
The Police of West Jiantia Hills District were reaming vigilance after the arrest of many Nigerian national recently in Jaintia Hills. On getting the information that foreign national might cross to India from Bangladesh the police alerted the respective police station and they could arrest the Nigerian national who enter Indian Territory illegally from Bangladesh.
