Shillong November 16: As part of the 2012 International year of co-operatives, local made jam, loofa,handicrafts,clothing and various other utility items with a traditional touch was displayed as the Regional Co-operative Expo organised at the State Central Library Premises.
The two-day expo was inaugurated by Saleng A Sangma incharge co- operation department Meghalaya.
Attended by the co-operative society from all parts of the state and outside, the expo aims to provide a platform to the people to showcase their skills.
“ Expo’s of these kinds help us not only to sell our products but also interact,share and learn from other participants,” said a stall owner.
G.Marbaniang a shopper at the expo felt that expo’s like these provides individuals to have a taste of the traditional made items which otherwise have been overtaken by the foreign goods.
Around twenty stalls are put up at the expo.(SP News)
