Shillong, Sept 27: Saindur Enviro Conducts Cleaning Drive Under “Our Country, Our Environment, Our Responsibility” as Part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 Campaign As part of the Government of India’s Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign, Saindur Enviro, Shillong, successfully organized a major cleaning drive under the theme “Our Country, Our Environment, Our Responsibility.
” The event took place on 27th September 2024, with the enthusiastic participation of 150 NCC cadets, representatives from Saindur Enviro, who came together to make a visible impact on the environment. Cadets from 61 Megh Girls BN, 2 Meghalaya, KV Nepa, and Umroi Cantt.
Participated, accompanied by two CTOs from KV Nepa and Umroi Cantt., two PIs from 61 Megh, one ANO, and one CTO from Union Christian College. Their collective efforts demonstrated a strong commitment to cleanliness and environmental responsibility, marking a significant contribution to the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
The cleaning drive was conducted at Mawlyndep locality, nearby the Umiam lake area, where the team focused on removing litter, plastic waste, and other pollutants (including medical wastes). This effort aligns with the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative, which encourages every citizen to take ownership of keeping their surroundings clean, promoting the vision of a clean and green India.
The participation of the NCC cadets played a pivotal role in making this event a success. Their energy, dedication, and sense of duty towards the environment set a strong example for the community, encouraging more people to contribute to the cause. By taking part in such activities, these young citizens are fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, inspiring others to join the movement.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vivek Kumar, Director, Saindur Enviro Pvt. Ltd., Shillong, emphasized the need for sustained efforts in cleanliness and environmental preservation, stating, “This cleaning drive is just the beginning. Our country, our environment, and our responsibility is more than just a slogan—it’s a call to action for every individual.
With the active involvement of organizations and youth groups like the NCC, we can create a significant and lasting impact.” “This initiative reflects the values we instill in our cadets—discipline, responsibility, and community service,” said Lt. Phida K. Syntiew, ANO of Union Christian College.
