Shillong, February 13:In a move to facilitate voter participation in the upcoming General Election to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), the Central Government has announced special leave for its employees who are registered voters in the constituencies under both councils.
As per the notification, Central Government employees who are electors in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills will be granted special leave on February 21, 2025, the designated Poll Day. This decision aims to ensure that all eligible voters have the opportunity to exercise their democratic right without any work-related hindrances.
The special leave provision is expected to benefit numerous employees residing in these regions, enabling them to cast their votes and actively participate in the democratic process
