Shillong, July 05: The officers and staff of Raj Bhavan today held a condolence meeting at Raj Bhavan,Shillongto mourn the untimely demise of Smti. Suman Chauhan, daughter of the Governor of Meghalaya, Shri Phagu Chauhan, who left for her heavenly abode today morning at AIIMS, New Delhi.
The proceedings were led by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Shri Harish Chandra Chaudhary, IFS in the presence of the Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. B. D. R. Tiwari, IAS. A floral tribute and two minutes’ silence was observed for the departed soul.
Married to Shri Gyanendra Singh Chauhan, (L) Smti Suman Chauhan, was undergoing treatment for cancer for last three months. Her last rites will be performed tomorrow at her native place Prayagraj (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh. She is survived by her husband, a son and a daughter.
