Shillong, August 06: Civil Defence and Home Guard Minister, Mr Metbah Lyngdoh today inaugurated the Annual Conference of the CD&HG here at Central Training Institute, Civil Defence and Home Guards, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong.
Addressing the inaugural function, Mr Lyngdoh said that there is a need to strengthen the manpower and the working capacity of the department so as to response effectively during disasters and natural calamities.
The Minister also informed that the government is looking on the possibility of setting up of CD&HG offices in all the districts across the State. Shri Metbah Lyngdoh hoped that the deliberations and discussions during the day-long Conference will saw a positive outcome that will bring about strategies and measures to be adopted in the event of natural or man-made calamities.
