Shillong, Jan 01: As part of the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, CBIC formations on 30/12/2021 inaugurated 75 revamped Taxpayer Facilitation Centres across the country.
One of such revamped Facilitation Centres has been inaugurated by the Commissioner, CGST-Shillong, Meghalaya in ‘Crescens Building’, M.G.Road, Shillong, Meghalaya State – 793001 which is the headquarter of CGST for the entire state of Meghalaya.
On the occasion, representatives from media houses based in Shillong were invited to participate in the inaugural function and also to enable them have a first-hand knowledge about the department’s outreach towards facilitating all taxpayers, especially the small taxpayers, by the launch of such Facilitation Centres.
The Commissioner and other senior officers from the Commissionerate answered to the queries, doubts raised by the stakeholders during the function.
It was impressed upon the media to convey that the Facilitation Centre would not only cater to the taxpayers who are assessees under the Central jurisdiction, but also cater to the needs of taxpayers who fall under the State Government’s jurisdiction.
The media representatives were requested to give wide publicity of the event and also about the objective with which the Centre has been set up through electronic and print media. The Facilitation Centre will be manned by officers from the Commissionerate on all working days.
