Ampati, July 23: In a major initiative to strengthen the startup ecosystem and promote entrepreneurship at the grassroots level, the District Administration, South West Garo Hills, will organise a district-level Transforming Entrepreneurial Journeys Across States and Districts (TEJAS) Workshop on July 29, 2026, at the BADO Multi Facility Centre Hall, Ampati, from 11:00 AM onwards.
The TEJAS initiative, launched by Startup India, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, is being implemented across 132 districts nationwide to identify, nurture and support aspiring entrepreneurs, startups and innovators, particularly from non-metro and underserved regions.
The workshop aims to connect participants with institutional support systems, mentorship opportunities, funding avenues and other essential resources required to establish and scale innovative enterprises.
The programme will bring together aspiring entrepreneurs, startups, innovators, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), artisans, students and job seekers, providing them with a platform to interact with experts and explore various government support mechanisms available for entrepreneurship and enterprise development.
Technical sessions will be conducted by officials and representatives from Startup India, DPIIT, the District Administration, South West Garo Hills, PRIME (Promotion and Incubation of Market Driven Enterprises) under the Department of Planning & Investment, Government of Meghalaya, and the Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA). The workshop will also be held in collaboration with ecosystem partners, including the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative of DPIIT.
The TEJAS initiative supports the Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat@2047 by fostering innovation, encouraging entrepreneurship, generating employment opportunities and promoting balanced and inclusive economic growth across districts.
The District Administration has invited all interested entrepreneurs, innovators, SHGs, artisans, students and job seekers to register and participate in the workshop to benefit from the opportunities and support available through the TEJAS initiative.
