Shillong, Sept 12: The 41 Meghalaya NCC Arty Battery, Shillong organised a mini marathon on 12 Sep 19 to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of 21 Sikh soldiers in Saragarhi Battle on this day in 1897 as they held over 10000 enemy troops over a day .In this single battle all 21 Sikh soldiers were awarded the highest Gallantry Award , the Indian Order of Merit
The 41 Meghalaya NCC Arty Battery is also conducting 10 days combined annual training camp ( CATC) from 12 to 21 Sep 19, in which 400 boys and girls cadet’s of Meghalaya will be attending. The primary aim of this camp will be to enhance the potential of the cadet’s , inculcate adventure spirit , personality development , teamwork, firing and selection for Republic Day Camp which will be held in Delhi in the month of January.
