Shillong, July 19: The NEHUNSA an association of the non-teaching employees of North Eastern Hill University is hereby, giving a clarification that the ALL NEHU WORKERS UNION is a union of the non-regular employees of the University,daily wages,contractual and casual.
The regular non-teaching employees of the NEHU is not part of ALL NEHU WORKERS UNION but in the banner of NEHUNSA under the leadership of a duly elected Staff Council members from among the regular employees.
The Non-Teaching Staff Association (NEHUNSA) is a non-political body established under the Act 24 of 1973 of the Parliament for maintaining better relationship through mutual respect, co-operation and understanding between the authorities and the teachers on the one hand and the non-teaching staff of the University.
On the other hand and to make efforts to promote socio-economic welfare of its members by securing better service conditions and facilities through unity and brotherhood among all sections of the University, and thereby help in fulfilling the purpose of the University. NEHUNSA is recognized under the Statutes 44 (1)(ii) of the University.
NEHUNSA is neither against the ALL NEHU WORKERS UNIONnor wants to make any comment on their demands. This is just a clarification to the general public that these demands are not of the regular staff but of the non-regular employees of NEHU,said Mr. Jonathan P Nognbri general secretary NEHUNSA in the press statement.
