Shillong, Sept 25: The BJP Meghalaya Pradesh today celebrated the 104th birth anniversary of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay. On the occasion, the party organised a webinar to highlight the life and mission of Deendayal, and his role in laying the founding principles of the party.
The State Party President, Ernest Mawrie spoke about how Deen Dayal ji laid the foundation of nationalism in the country. He also spoke about the idea of ‘Antyodya’, which means ‘welfare of the poor’, and how even today all party policies are rooted in this.
The BJP Shillong City President, Nitin Khera also addressed the participants of the webinar. He highlighted the philosophy of ‘Integral Humanism’ forwarded by Deed Dayal ji, and that makes the BJP one of the most inclusive political parties in the country.
To commemorate the occasion, the BJP Mahila Morcha also organised a program and distributed ration for the children at Hindu Mission, Mawprem and Anand Bhawan Missionaries of Charity, Nongrimbah.
The State BJP also distributed ration to the local needy people at the State Party Office.Earlier, party karyakartas across the state honoured their leader by hoisting the party flag at their respective homes.
