The BSF Meghalaya celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day at Umpling, Shillong

Shillong, August 15: The BSF Meghalaya celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day at the Frontier headquarters in Umpling, Shillong. The celebration began with the `Flag Hoisting’ by Sh. Pradip Kumar, IPS, Inspector General of BSF Meghalaya.

The BSF personnel deployed at the border also celebrated this auspicious and proud day by hoisting the flag and distributing sweets to their counterparts in the Border Force.

Students from BSF Schools also marked this special occasion by organizing beautiful cultural programs. During the event, IG BSF Meghalaya extended his wishes and motivated the students to prioritize the nation and strive to become good citizens of India. He also conveyed his greetings to the people of Meghalaya, all members of the force and their families.

Additionally, on this auspicious occasion, the troops of 110 Bn BSF Meghalaya organized a free medical camp under the Civic Action Programme for the bordering villagers of District East Khasi Hills. During the programme, free health check-ups were carried out by the doctors and medicines were also distributed among the needy villagers.
