Shillong, April 28: Midst COVID-19 pandemic, BSF Meghalaya continued with its campaign of providing relief material to needy people residing in bordering area along Indo- Bangladesh border and at the same time taking care of hundreds of stranded cattle in various Border out post.
The BSF Meghalaya carried out a multi-pronged campaign to reach out to the people residing in remote areas along Indo- Bangladesh Border. On 27th April 2020 BSF distributed food items to resident of village Barsora, East Jaintia Hills. Each family was provided with 10 kg rice, 2 kg salt, 2kg dal, 2 bottles of refine oil and vegetables.
Today BSF Meghalaya jointly with Marwari Society provided 500 bags of fodder to 30 Bn BSF, 123 Bn BSF and 11 Bn BSF for feeding the stranded cattle. Sh. Dinesh Kumar, 2IC 30 Bn flagged off the convoy consisting of 04 vehicles loaded with fodder to different Border Out Posts in Meghalaya.
Mr UK Nayal DIG and PRO said, “We have launched the campaign jointly with Marwari Samaj of distributing fodder, Food items, Masks and Sanitizers. This multi-prong campaign includes distribution of food item, educating villagers and also taking care of stranded cattle. They are also making public announcement in bilingual giving vital information regarding COVID-19 to the villagers”.
