Shillong, June 16: Border security force in Meghalaya continues its efforts to curb drug smuggling amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Acting on tip off, on 14th June 2020, Troops of 43 BSF Meghalaya intercepted one person at Seemakona, South Garo Hills Districts along the International Border.
The BSF team carried out search and recovered 101 Nos of suspected YABA tablets. The suspected person was later identified as Narayan Hazong 21 years.
The BSF is working to crackdown the syndicates involved in the rackets. It is to be noted that YABA tablets containing a banned psychotropic substances under NDPS Act was meant for smuggling it into Bangladesh.
The BSF has already intensified its vigil along the Indo Bangladesh border to prevent attempts of infiltration and trans border crime and smugglings.
