Shillong, Mau 01: The BSF troops deployed at Dawki of West Jiantia Hills District, on getting specific information, on the suspicious movement of a Swift Dezire bearing No.ML-05-P-0459 near International border on 30th April 2019.
The Special Operation Party stoppedthe said vehicle driven by one person and carried out search operation. During search, BSF Troops recovered 11 packets containing 2190 Nos of Yaba Tablets from his possession. BSF troops apprehended the Indian National.
After questioning the apprehended person was identified as namely S K Tluanga, 35 years from Chandmari, District. Aizawl, but presently a resident of ARC Happy Valley, Madanrting police station , Shillong East Khasi Hills.
It is mentioned that the Yaba Tablet is consumed in Bangladesh in large quantity inspite of repeated Special Drive and apprehension by Bangladeshi Law Enforcement agencies against this drug. Consumption of Yaba Tablet is prohibited in Bangladesh and addiction of the Yaba Tablets has been risen tremendously.
Similarly, on 29th Apr’2019 in another incident the BSF troops deployed at Chandaboi, South Garo Hills observed some suspicious movement of four illegal intruders at International Boundary through hume pipe from India to Bangladesh.
The alert BSF troops immediately chased them and succeeded to apprehend 02 BD nationals namely Md Siraj, and Mohammed Kamal Sheikh, Mohammed Ladys Sheikh, while they were trying to cross International Boundary.
But remaining 02 Intruders fled back to Bangladesh taking advantage of darkness, hilly terrain and thick vegetation. During search, BSF Troops recovered misc. items and Indian Currency from their possession.
It is also mentioned that the Bangladeshi national trying to migrate from the unfenced area but the alert BSF troops always foil their attempts despite large number of troops deployed in Parliamentary election duty.
The Border Security Force has intensified its operations on the Indo-Bangladesh Border to prevent such illegal transporting of medicine and drugs along International Border in Meghalaya.The apprehended persons and seized items handed over to the concerned department for further disposal.
