Shillong,Jan 15: The Border Security Force has organizeda civic action programme as part of Border Management Plan at village Harai under East Jaintia Hills distt. of Meghalaya on 14th Jan’ 2020.
The Civic Action programme was conducted to improve the quality of life, welfare to poor bordering villagers, to upgrade the existing infrastructure and to create new avenues for bringing positive changes in the life of the local villagers.
Mr H S Rawat, Commandant of 97Bn BSF inaugurated a Computer center at BOP Harai wherein a large number of local populace and headmen of bordering villages e.gHarail, Hangaria and Lailong witnessed and expressed their cheerfulness and gratitude to BSF for this notable initiative.
Addressing a gathering of appx 200 local inhabitants, Commandant stated that BSF will organize certificate courses & skill development programme on computer/application will be undertaken through this computer lab.
Local inhabitants of Harai village expressed their gratitude to BSF for organizing such programme. They expressed their desire, BSF should continue the good work in future too keeping the welfare needs of border areas.
Mr Kuldip Saini, IG FTR HQ BSF Meghalaya said that BSF had been organizing such programmes in the past and plans to continue the same in better manner in future also.
