Shillong, July 26: Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr. Conrad K Sangma said that there are eleven items brought before the cabinet and they have taken nine items, the cabinet has approved the amendment on the Meghalaya Local Fund Audit Rules, 1996 the basic amendment is on updating the rules since lot of office memo has come up.
The Cabinet has approved the rules to conduct the departmental examination for IAS, in all this years the departmental examination was organized by the Assam Public Service Commission, since we don have rule to conduct the exam, today the cabinet has decided to have centre in Shillong to be conducted by the MPSC and the syllabus will be more oriented towards the state and the usage of Khasi and Garo languages.
The Chief Minister also inform that, to speed up the conduct of examination in various post in government job, thus who are having the same scale of pay and more or less same qualification the MPSC will conduct at the same time. Since the MPSC has to conduct exam it has take long time from now on they will club together this is done to save time.
The Cabinet has also approved the prison manual for the last fifty years Meghalaya follow the Assam Manual, for the last two years there has been a committee who has study this and this new manual is on how to manage the inmate in the jail.
The Cabinet has also decided to amendment the ministerial service rule, this is to increased the age limit from 27 years to 32 years this will be for the District courts so this has to be amended, base on the GST Committee recommendation the cabinet has also approved the amendment of the Meghalaya Goods and services Tax Act, 2017 this will be in the form of ordinance it has to bring before the Assembly.
The Cabinet has also approve the Meghalaya Persecution Service Rules this was necessary to improve the overall persecution faster and better the cabinet has approved the rules, this will include regular appointment of public persecutors in different districts. This was passed way back in 2008 but but to streamline the system was not taken.
The Cabinet has also approved for the regularization for Government and non Government Lower Primary and Upper Primary Schools Teachers of Meghalaya appointed by the administration and Deputy Inspector of Schools post 1994 up to 2007.
When the state government taken over the Lower Primary schools from District Councils in 1993 large numbers of teachers has been shifted to government and they become regular government employees, but in the process closed to 2447 teachers where left out for regularizes this happen for many reason, but all this teachers received regular salary in terms of the scales and the selection process was also done in proper order but actual regularization was never done. With this all the teachers will get pension.
