Shillong, Oct 17: The Central BJP Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today released the 12th instalment of Rs. 2000 to farmer families under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.
Under this scheme, Rs. 6000 is given per year to provide support to all land holder farmer families in the country. Rs. 2000 is transferred directly to the bank account to the farmer families three times a year under this scheme.
Meghalaya is a huge beneficiary of this scheme. More than 2.05 Lakh farmers families from Meghalaya received funds under this scheme, benefiting almost 8 Lakh individuals.
State BJP President, Ernest Mawrie expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for taking care of the farmers of Meghalaya. He said, it is only the BJP Government which is truly pro-poor, and takes care of the last man in the society, be it farmers, or anyone else.
