Tura, June 11: The Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today inspected the site for construction of a multi-utility indoor stadium at Dalmagre near Tura in the presence of Home Minister James Sangma and Sports Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh.
The stadium is part of the infrastructural development program initiated by the government in preparation for the National Games to be hosted by the State in 2022.
In order to improve connectivity a four lane highway is being proposed to connect the Games site with the main town of Tura.
The Chief Minister also held a meeting with the village headman and landowners to seek their cooperation for smooth progress of the project.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Thomas A. Sangma, MLA and Advisor to the Chief Mninister, Marcus N. Marak, Government Chief Whip, Deputy Commissioner and officials from concerned departments.
