Shillong, August 22: The construction of the Rs.43 cores Inter State Bus Terminus at Mawiongrim is in a snail pace. This project was funded by the North Eastern Council with the purpose to decongest the Shillong city.
The NEC has sanction the project on 2013 and the project is schedule to be completed by 2015 but till date the project is still under construction that moves in a snail pace. The state government has targeted to complete this project by December 2018.
Sources told SP News Agency that the construction of the ISBT at Mawiongrin is moving in as snail pace, which is doubtful that this bus terminus that will be able to accommodate more than 150 buses would be completed by December this year as set the target by the transport Department.
On the same year the construction of the Inter State Bus Terminus at Tura was started, the ISBT at Tura was completed, now is awaiting for the official inauguration.
