Shillong, Sept 13: The Meghalaya Police informed that today around 04:55 am an information was received that the convoy of Mr. James P. K. Sangma, Power Minister etc. met with an accident at Nagaon, Assam.
On getting the information Meghalaya police immediately a police team was sent to the place of occurrence and on reaching the spot it was observed that the pilot vehicle had capsized and the vehicle of the Minister was also damaged.
The four police officials who were inside the pilot vehicle were immediately sent to Civil Hospital, Nagaon for medical assistance whereas; the Minsiter has been escorted to his official residence in Shillong.
At present both the damaged vehicles have been taken to Nonoi Out-Post for observation of legal procedures and police officials of the State are coordinating with the counterparts of Assam for further necessary action.
In the official press statement of the police they did not mention that the power Minister is returning from Manipur and on it way to Shillong while reaching Nagaon Assam met with an Accident.
