Shillong, July 22: The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District has declare Block-II of Lumpyngad and Motinagar as containment areas.
Whereas, Government of Meghalaya in exercise of powers conferred Under Section 2, 3 & 4 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 has constituted The Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Amendments thereof for Containment of outbreak of COVID- 19.
And whereas, detection of positive COVID-19 cases in Block-Il of Lumpyngngad, Motinagar due to recent high risk and low risk contact with COVID-19 positive cases, vulnerable and affected areas require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of health of general public against any possible spread of COVID- 19.
Therefore, it is necessary to declare the entire Block-II of Lumpyngad and Motinagar as a containment area so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site with the following measures for due compliance by the public.
No person or public shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the Containment area shall not move out. All the inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their home.
No gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms shall be allowed, No Social, Political, Religious, Economic activities are allowed, all the shopping establishments of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately.
The supply of essential and medical requirements will be ensured through various teams formed by the District Administration, All Government & Private Institutions located within the boundary of the containment area are hereby closed forthwith, till further Orders.
Incident Commander of Zone-I shall be the Supervising Officer of the BLOCK-II or LUMPYNGNGAD, MOTINAGAR which is declared as a Containment area.
Any violation of this order shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and I.P.C.
In view of the urgency of the matter, this Order has been made ex parte by the Deputy Commissioner East Khasi Hills District.
