The diagnostic centre will be set up at Lawmali a joint venture with Salvia Global LLP

For a state that’s been facing a shortage of healthcare infrastructure brought out more clearly by the ongoing pandemic, a glimmer of hope has come to life with a state-of-the-art diagnostic centre coming up shortly.

The diagnostic centre will be set up at Pasteur Institute, Lawmali and is a joint venture of Salvia Global LLP, headed by Christopher Rani and Government of Meghalaya.

To take stock of the progress of the work happening at the diagnostic centre, an inspection was conducted this afternoon by the Health Minister, Shri. A.L.Hek, along with Principal Secretary Shri. Sampath Kumar IAS, and other health officials. As per the inspection, 80% of the plan has been completed and work on the remaining 20% is in progress.

All the equipment for biochemistry, immuno-chemistry, hematology, clinical pathology and serology has been installed and will be inspected by the coming week.

This diagnostic centre will facilitate 700 different tests that will not only help the state progress in healthcare but also make Meghalaya a hub for medical facilities for adjoining regions as well.
