Shillong, May 28: The District magistrate while imposed section 144 CrPC in the District, said that the incident that occurred on the 27.5.2017 at Ronghana where a mob of around 150 persons who are reportedly members of the KSU, let by their official from the central body and the North Khasi Hills Unit attacked the worker site of Railway in Ronghana village in Byrnihat area.
The District Magistrate, as per information received, the mob damaged the propery of railway and also caused arson, leading to huge damages to Railway property which is government property. Report also said that the unruly mob also injured the workers engaged by the railways working at the site and some of them sustain serious injuries. The mob also attacked and injured the police who were deployed at the site.
On the 27th May 2017, it was also reported that some KSU members tried to block the National Highway by creating arson at Shangbangla, it also mention that the same mob who which destroy government property at Byrnihat also attacked and in
