The foundation day of Goa, Telangana, and Sikkim celebrated at Raj Bhavan, Shillong

Shillong, June 3: Raj Bhavan, Shillong today came alive with cultural vibrancy as it celebrated the Foundation Day of Goa, Telangana, and Sikkim. This program is part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative by the Government of India, aimed at strengthening connections and fostering mutual understanding among people from various states and Union Territories.

The event was graced by the Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya, Shri Phagu Chauhan, as the Chief Guest, alongside the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Shri Harish Chandra Chaudhary, IFS, members of the armed forces, and officers and staff from central and state governments.

The celebration featured video messages from the Governors of the respective states and a rich array of cultural performances, showcasing the unique traditions, music, and dance forms of Goa, Telangana, and Sikkim.

These performances provided an opportunity for the people of Meghalaya to experience and appreciate the diverse cultural heritage of these states.

As a token of appreciation, the Hon’ble Governor presented mementos to all the participants. This program was organized by Raj Bhavan, Shillong, in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Meghalaya, and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Shillong.
