Shillong, January 30: The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Meghalaya organized a programme for school students from Shillong to visit labs and interact with scientists about various research areas of bioresources.
During the event, students of the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Shillong visited IBSD Upper Shillong campus under PM Shri scheme to observe different activities of the Institute, research laboratories,scientific instruments, Orchidarium and available local bioresources particularly medicinal plants.
The IBSD is organizing such events under the “Science for Society” program which is initiatedby Prof. Pulok K. Mukherjee, Director, IBSD to promote awareness of science and technology and their sustainable utilization towards development and wise utilization of local Bioresources.
All the students visited different labs and interacted with scientists about ongoing research on bioresources including plants, microbes and edible insects.
