Shillong, April 17: The Jaintia Student Union (JSU) from Shillong Circle has filed an FIR with the Sardar Police Station against people who offer help by asking money from the public.
In the FIR, the JSU said that some opportunist who have taken the opportunity because of the lockdown by tricking naive people to submit their information like name address including their bank account number.
Thus opportunist claim that they belong to various departments under the government of India. This scheming act was carryout through phone call in which the naive public was made to believe that there are beneficial scheme like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and many others.
The JSU in the FIR has also one number of the caller since the call was made from the number 8923756767. The JSU asked the police department to trace down the mention phone number in order to prevent the people from such fraudulent action. The FIR was sign by Mr Treiborlang R Suchen President and Remisa Bamon Executive member of the JSU.
