Shillong, April 03: The Member of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council Mr Sadhiarani M Sangma sent a D.O Letter to the Chief executive Member of the GHADC Mr Dipul R Marak to pay his ten month salary so that he will contribute to the Chief Minister Relief Fund.
In the letter the MDC from 10-Dengnakapra said that in view of the prevailing situation caused due to pandemic COVID-19 in the country and the world the state of Meghalaya was also badly affected.
To prevent further transmission and spread of the virus, the nation lockdown is also necessary as saving human life it utmost priority, but on the contrary, many people, specially daily wage earner are suffering due to non availability of food and other essential commodities.
In the letter Mr Sangma mention that as elected representatives, it is also his responsibility to contribute to mitigate the problem. The MDC from 10-Dengnakapra requested the CEM of the KHADC from the 24 month pending salary if he could released ten month salary so that he will be able to contribute to the Chief Minister Relief Fund as sought by the Chief Minister to fight this dreaded virus collectively.
