Shillong, Sept 10: The MLAC today observed worldwide as “World Suicide Prevention Day”. This year, to commemorate this day, the Department of Psychology, Martin Luther Christian University.
This was done in collaboration with Bethany Society and Meghalaya Association of Professional Counsellors (MAPC), organised a special awareness programme in the University’s campus and in Khyndailad, Police Bazaar
The programme was held with the aim of enlightening people about this important topic that has increasingly become a social epidemic. It was also held to pay homage to all the precious souls that were unfortunately lost to suicide as well as to encourage people to always seek help and never to resort to suicide.
