Shillong, August 01: The Employee of GHADC under the banner of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council, Non-Gazetted Employee Association Tura (NGEA) have strongly condemned the Show cause notice dated.30.07.2021 issued by Principal Secretary with the threatening to suspend the service of all the Executive Member of NGEA to submit the written reply with 72 hours.
While condemning the insensible action of the Principle Secretary of GHADC, the Executive body/member of NGEA stated also stated that the show cause notice were issued to the members of NGEA on the pretext of non following of Covid-19 protocols and guideline issued by the concerned authority.
The NGEA alleged that the main hidden motive and sole purpose of issuing show cause notice to the various member of NGEA is to suppress the voice of the Employees and NGEA who had been fighting for various issues including full payment of their pending salary for about two years 7 months.
It is stated that on 22nd July 2021 the employee under the umbrella of NGEA have hold the formal meeting with following all the covid-19 norms and protocols issued by the authorities, to discuss the various issues pertaining non-fulfillment of the assurance and promises given by CEM of GHADC on 4th June 2021 in public.
The Principle Secretary of GHADC is taking advantage of every small mistake which are done by the leaders of NGEA knowingly or unknowingly and leaving no stone unturned to oppress and suppress the voice of NGEA against irregularities that had been going on in GHADC since for the past 15 years.
The principle secretary is trying to point finger at the leaders of NGEA by making wild allegation against NGEA that leaders of NGEA were not following the covid-19 norms and guideline, protocols issued by concerned authorities, but while pointing fingers at NGEA leaders he has totally forgot and ignored his own illegal action whereby he had been selfishly clinging on to hold the post of Principle Secretary even after retirement from his service.
It is stated that his service had been illegally extended for the third time even after retirement. We appreciate that he is insisting the members of NGEA to mandatorily follow the covid-19 notification and norms and guideline, restriction and any covid-19 protocol issued by the concerned authority but we strongly condemn him when he is selective in dealing with the covid-19 norms and guideline issued by concerned authorities.
To substantiate our statement the undersigned beg to informed to the general public that on 4th June 2021 when the Employees and Staffs of GHADC under the banner of NGEA were holding series of Agitation for non-payment of salaries, the CEM of GHADC had called and invited different NGOs, Staffs and Employees of GHADC for General meeting and for dialogue but interestingly at that point of time no covid -19 protocols.
The NGEA said that the Norms, restriction guideline like social distancing, wearing of Mask, hand sanitizer, washing of hand etc, were never followed and the Principal Secretary to the Executive Committee of GHADC had never issued any guideline and covid-19 protocol to be followed on 4th June 2021 and neither have taken any permission from Deputy Commissioner, Tura.
Prior to holding of public meeting on 4th June 2021, thereby Principal Secretary and higher authority of GHADC have totally violated all the covid-19 norms and protocol and guideline issued and instructed by concerned authorities.
The NGEA further state that we will continue to demand his removal as he has no moral right to continue and hold the post of Principal Secretary after retirement and will continue to fight against injustice meted upon the staffs and employees and leaders of NGEA, no matter what and come what may we are not looking back.
They have been fighting for full clearance of our due salaries and for various irregularities that are happening in GHADC. That on 4th June 2021 the CEM of GHADC have made assurance and promised to fulfill all our demand and also promised to give an written assurance but shockingly till date no written assurance and written agreement had been given to us by CEM.
The NGEA will give this week to CEM and Principal Secretary to fulfill his promised and to withdraw the show cause notice issued to us and if they fail to do so we have no alternative choice but to resume our agitation, said Mr Senora Johny Arengh President NGEA of the GHADC.
