Shillong, May 13: The National Student’s Union of India today has sent letter to the Education Minister of Meghalaya Mr Lahkmen Rymbui to urged the Government to reduce the School and College fees by 25%.
Mr. Bansharailang Pyngrope president of the NSUI in the letter said that, amidst the Covid-19 crisis that has hit the state, the country and the entire world. it understand that as a senior minister in the state, must be working tirelessly to fight this pandemic and we highly appreciate your efforts in keeping the citizens safe.
But the imposition of Lockdown has affected the people in the state, especially the people in the lower strata of society and this has discouraged many students from continuing their education.
The lockdown has limited people’s ways of earning and have limited their opportunities for employment. Since, the students are the future of the state and the country we humbly write to you respected sir to reduce the school fees and college Fees by 25%.
This will not only help the students monetarily but also encourage them to pursue their education with zeal knowing that the state government is behind them in their time of need, said Mr. Bansharailang Pyngrope State President, NSUI.
