Shillong, May 28: Whereas, it is observed that the number of COVID-19 cases in the State continues to rise sharply and hospital bed occupancy is nearing saturation.
Therefore, in supersession to all orders issued in respect of Containment Measures in the State, the following shall be enforced in the State w.e.f. 31 st May, 2021 until further orders.
The government has prohibited in thr entire State, that no Political, public, social and religious gatherings are not permitted including conferences, meetings and trainings.
To tourists from outside the State shall not be permitted and all tourist spots shall remain closed, Sporting activities are not permitted.
Inter-State movement of persons shall be restricted. This shall not apply for transit vehicles of Assam, Tripura, Manipur and Mizoram.
International Border Trade shall be regulated by the Deputy Commissioners. In East Khasi Hills District, Lockdown shall be extended in East Khasi Hills District till 5:00 AM of 7th June, 2021.
The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District shall make suitable arrangements for availability of essential commodities in the localities on need basis.
Home Delivery Services are permitted subject to prior permission and regulation by the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District.
Inter-district movement of persons from and to East Khasi Hills District shall be restricted.
All Central Government offices other than those notified by Home (Political) Department vide Notification No. POL.117/2020/Pt.ll/136, dated 28-05-2021 shall remain closed.
All State Government offices other than those notified by Personnel & A.R (A) Department vide Notification No. PER.62/2020/57, dated 28-05-2021 shall remain closed.
State Bank of India, Main Branch, Laitumkhrah Branch and Secretariat Branch shall function with limited staff for the purpose of government transactions only.
All other Banks are permitted to open on 31 st May, 2021 and 1 st June, 2021 with limited staff for the purpose of urgent transactions only. They shall close by 4:00 PM , ll Post Offices are permitted to open on 2 nd , 3 rd and 4th June, 2021 with limited staff.
Ecommerce activities and courier services are permitted subject to regulation by the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District.
Hardware Stores are permitted to open on need-basis with prior permission of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills,
In-situ Construction works for Government Projects that does not involve movement of labour are permitted with due intimation to the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District.
In-situ Construction works of Private Projects that does not involve movement of labour are permitted subject to prior permission and regulation of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills,
Funeral gathering to be restricted to 10 persons with prior permission of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills. Weddings are not permitted.
Thd Government has also exempted the, Health services including emergency services and vaccination.Medicines and Pharmaceuticals. Movement of Essential goods.
Persons travelling on Essential Government Duty viz., Medical Teams and officials on COVID-19 Duty, Police, Security and Armed Forces, Civil Defence and Home Guards, Fire and Emergency Services, Electricity, Water Supply, Municipal Services, Public Distribution System,Information and Public Relations, Telecommunication Services, Print & Electronic Media.
Farming activities in rural areas including betel nut and betel leaf, MGNREGA activities in rural areas. Other Districts government had authorise, Deputy Commissioners, SDO (Civil) are authorised to impose restrictions in their district or subdivision depending on local situation.
All permitted activities are subject to strict compliance to the guidelines and the social distancing protocols issued by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya, this order was issued by the Chief secretary Government of Meghalaya Mr. M.S. Rao.
