Shillong, Jan 14: The DDG NE LSA Shillong today celebrated the occasion of Bihu. The festival is known as Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Lohri, Uttarayan, Villaku etc. in different parts of the country and marks the onset of new harvest season dedicated to the purification of one’s soul and the beginning of a new phase of life.
The office celebrated this event with kite flying, bonfire, and feasting. Further, Sr. DDG Sh Ravi Goel extended his warm wishes to the people of Six States of North-East under his jurisdiction. While we all should observe the safety measures in these times of pandemic, he prayed that the festival ushers us in a new phase of happy and healthy life.
