Shillong, Dec 14: The Superintendent of Police of East Khasi Hills District said that, is has come to the notice of the police department that some people with vested interests have been spreading rumours that some people who were part of the protest rally organised by COMSO on 13.12.2019 had received bullet injuries and that some have also die due to the same.
The Superintendent of police East Khasi Hills District in the official press statement mention, this is to clarify that there was only one person with grievous injuries which was due to the fact that he fell down from the top of a wall and a sharp iron grill has prices his abdomen.
The medical report has clearly indicate, “There are no trace of bullet found and no exit wound found”. It may be clearly noted that there was no such firing incident during the rally, and that all forces personnel were equip with anti-riot equipement comprising lathi cane and stunt shell only.
Hence, such baseless allegation is nothing but rumours by certain individual who are taking undue advantage of the situation. The department is taking serious note of such rumours and will ensure that such rumours mongers are identified and book under relevant section of law for spreading such falls, baseless, and dangerous rumours said the Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills District Smti C .A Lyngwa.
