Maligaon, May 11: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N. F. Railway continues their drives against transhipment of contraband items through railways from07thtill9th of May, 2024, RPF of N.F. Railway conducted drives against carrying of contraband items at Agartala, Dharmanagarand Falakata railway stations.
Trains and has recovered contraband goods around Rs. 5.4 lakhs.During the drives they recovered Ganja weighing a total of 55.8 kgs approximately and apprehendedoneperson in this connection.The apprehendedperson along with seized items waslater handed over to the respective OC/GRP police station for further course of action.
In an incident on 07th May, 2024, RPF and GRP team of Agartala jointly conducted a routine drive at Agartala railway station. In course of drive, they detected a suspicious personwith bags.
On opening the bags, they found Ganja weighed around 25 kgs approximately valued near about Rs. 2.50 lakhs. One person was apprehended in this connection. Later, the apprehended person along with the recovered Ganja was handed over to GRP of Agartala for further course of action.
Moreover, in different drives and checks conducted from 07thtill 9thof May, 2024, RPF of N. F. Railway also recovered around 30.8kgsof Ganjafrom different trains and stations.Later, recovered Ganjaswere over to concerned department for further legal action.
It may be mentioned here that RPF of N. F. Railway towards their objective of a drug free country, are constantly on vigil towards activities related to smuggling and transportation of contraband items at various railway stations and trains to make the nation drugs free.
