Shillong, July 29: The State funeral of Late Dr. Donkupar Roy, Hon’ble Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly and former Chief Minister of Meghalaya will be held at Sohra, East Khasi Hills District on 31st July, 2019. This was informed by the Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya.
According to the schedule the state funeral will begin at 12.30 PM and will continue to 3.00 PM, after the state funeral will proceed to Shella for funeral. The prayers services will start at 10.00 AM to 12.00 Noon the residence of late Dr Donkupar Roy at Sohra.
For tomorrow the prayer service at Crinoline View will begin at 1.00 PM and at 2.00 PM the mortal remain will be taken to Sohra at his Home. The state government as a mark of respect to Speaker of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly has declare state holiday on the state funeral day.
