The V.C of NEHU talks about internationalization of H.E of North East India festival in vietnam

Shillong, Oct 31: The  Vice-chancellor Prof. P. S. Shukla of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) met with dignitaries and officials at the 3rd Northeast India Festival, which was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The event highlighted the expanding educational exchange programs, tourism, trade, and investment ties between India and Vietnam and aimed to foster cultural diplomacy and cooperation between the two nations.

A variety of business-to-business (B2B) talks on education, tourism, trade, and investment were held on the second day of the three-day event. Participants included over 100 Vietnamese entrepreneurs, educationists, vice-chancellors from Vietnam universities, and stakeholders from the Northeast region.

According to Prof. Shukla, a step has been taken towards implementing NEHU’s internationalisation in the bordering nations. Throughout the event, VC-NEHU had the opportunity to meet and engage with a number of international leaders.

This  including Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan from Hong Bang International University, Mr. David Dang from Prof Certi, Vietnam’s Business Development Director, Mr. Harsh Sharma from Satyam Group of Industries.

Mr. Pham Bach Duong from the Office of International Affairs at HCMC University of Technology and Education, Mr. Rajiv Gupta from the Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (INCHAM), and Dr. Vu Thi Phuong from the Institute of International Education and Engagement at Hong Bang International University.

Prof. Shukla also gave a brief presentation in the programme highlighting research activitiesunder Indian Knowledge System covering a wide range of subjects, including Science, Engineering, Technology, Health and Wellness through Ayurveda, Yoga, traditional medicinal practices, Drama arts nd  Aesthetics and Folk culture, Environment and ecology and their preservation, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in Indian traditions, and Indian Traditional Knowledge Base, that have led to the establishment of the IKS centres for research, education, and outreach activities.

He also apprised the gathering that India will leverage its strengths in innovation and research to advance the social welfare and economic advancement of all parties involved, both domestically and internationally.  With a focus on research and innovation, NEHU will collaborate with partner nations to develop robust, long-lasting, systemic ties through bi- and multi-lateral projects.

This will serve as a vital link to open doors for more commerce and collaboration while also bolstering the ongoing excellence of India’s research foundation and innovation ecosystem.

Bringing the world together as one family is the aim of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policy, according to a statement made earlier on Friday by Union Minister of State for External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh. Singh was in Vietnam for the North East India Festival.

The Indian government, in partnership with the governments of Vietnam and Vietnam Tour Operators, intends to establish direct flights between Guwahati and South East Asian countries under the ACT EAST Policy as part of an endeavour to deepen connections.In order to promote international education in the South East Asian countries, the Office of International Affairs at NEHU will play a vital role.
