Shillong, July 04: Acting on the news report that four villages in East Jiantia Hills District Hingaria, huroi, Lahalein and Lejri stateting that they wants to be part of Bangladesh. The Deputy Commissioner of East Jiantia Hills conveys the meeting where the village elders of the four were call to hear what they have to say from the village’s headman.The meeting was also attended by the Superintendent of police East Jiantia Hills District.
In the meeting the headman, the secretary of the three villages including the spokesperson Mr Kynjaimon Amse, that they only wanted to express their hardship that they faced in terms of road connectivity, communication and lack of Medical facilities in their villages apart from others however, their, grievances were misconstrued and misrepresented.
The representatives also exhorted that their intention was to only seek support towards their requirements; their demand was for improving of the infrastructure with their villages.
In the meeting the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of police of East Jiantia Hills District assured the representative of these villages that they will visiting the border villages in the coming days in order to ascertain the fact and circumstances.
